What a Single Weekend

So this past weekend was a fun filled weekend. I made new friends (young and old), and I got to catch up with old friends.

On Friday I went to dinner with some of my Amazon Ladies (Amie Booker, Amy Nordyke and Joy Cox) to Jason's Deli. I love that place. Then after dinner we went to Game Night at the new Village Church Dallas Northway Campus. This game night was started to get the older members of the original Northway Church and the younger people of The Village Church involved in getting to know each other. Let me just tell you... The women are in it to win it. I elected to play Scatagories because it was the only game I felt confidant about. My teammate was a Northway Member. Her name was Kay. I am just gonna let you know... We were not good. At least not at first, but after a while we started to get the hang of it. By the end of the night I felt like had known these people for years! I can not wait until Game Night next month!

Saturday was a much busier day. I woke up early to go work out and tan (I get to see Ella this weekend, and I need to be lookin good for my baby). Next I went and volunteered at the Amazon Outreach Warehouse to get that place organized. We had a lot of fun. The only problem that we seemed to have was getting a few of our members there. They have a tendency to get lost... So I had to finally tell them to stop driving around and I will come and get you. After we organized, we all went to lunch together. Once lunch was over I was planning on going to the pool party that was going on at my Apartment complex. It was then that I received a phone call that thru a kink in my plans... but that is a very long story in itself. After I got that situation handled I went to an Amazon Outreach meeting about the September trip. Next I went to church, and followed that with dinner at The Keg with Brenda Bailey. Once I was done with dinner I drove to Arlington to meet up with my friend Ryan Bass that I had not seen since before Easter. All in All, it was a long Saturday... but awesome all the same.

On Sunday it was finally time to rest. I tried to sleep in, but that really wasn't happening because I had Bella and Gizmo (my friend Binson's dog) jumping on my head wanting to go outside and pee. So I got up took them outside, and then came back in and went back to sleep for a few hours. At about 10 I decided to get up and start cleaning up for the next week. It was around that time that I received a phone call from an old friend ;) that I had been emailing with, but had not actually talked to in probly over 15 years (Trenton Smith). It was great to talk to him. Trenton is living in North Carolina because he is posted there. He is in the army. He was supposed to leave for Afghanistan yesterday, but when he called he said that is was pushed back until the 15th. He will be there until February. At which point he is supposed to be out for good. He is planning to move back to God's country (Texas) in February! The conversation was not long enough is all I really have to say about it. The rest of the day was relaxing until I had to go to Wal-Mart and send 2 hours working on my birthday present for my father. I then went to my friend Abby & Ryan's house and they helped me complete the present! Afterward we went to dinner. Then it was time for me to go home and get ready for another week of being Single and Fabulous!
